Far Cry® 3 How to play Far Cry 3 in 2021 on Windows 10

Step 1: Denial. (A.K.A WDYM I have dual 3090ti with RGB watercooled 10900k and it crashes)

 
You click on Far Cry 3 in Steam, and it launches in 800×600 window for a second and it crashes instantly without giving you error log? Here is how you fix this. 
 
 
 
 

Step 2: Anger.

 
 
 
The first thing according to logic, is to check/verify game cache. Not as if it would make much difference, but it will download UBISOFT CONNECT update. Or PunkBuster, lol. 
 
 

Step 3: Bargaining.

 
First things first, we need to calm down and think, find, locate our game folder. 
We are only interested in farcry3_d3d11 file, right click and press on properties. 
 
SPOILERS BELOW ARE USELESS INFO ONLY FOR PPL WHO KNOW MORE THAN ME: 
Possible cause of problem might be “Service host: Storage Device” which doesn’t properly write logs to make steam launch ubisoft service, which is supposed to validate game key or something else, and causes crash. Or if the game is not installed on the same disk as windows, especially if you have NON ENGLISH LETTERS in some of the written paths which causes problems with system permissions. I literally have no idea what I just typed ngl 
 
 
 
 

Step 4: Depression.

 
 
 
Do this, and feel old, obviously. WIN 98/ WIN ME reached us from the grave and puts its bone to hold the giant of modern OS Windows 10 to make it work (and hold the name of the “BEST GAMING OPERATING SYSTEM”, just remember its probably not possible to fix this on consoles just like Cyberpunk on PS4) 
 
 

Step 5: Acceptance.

 
 
 
How to check if we did everything right (This should happen when you try to launch the game from steam) 
 
 
So we just use .exe in the folder 
 
 
 
and we done

If you know other solutions, got ideas, things to say/add, feel free to write, I will update the thing and credit you. But the idea is to keep this at top, since UBISOFT just abandoned support for this game. Lets use this as starting point of fixing this game in 2020+ year.
