A short guide sharing a good place and method I’ve found to grind runes
 
 

Small disclaimer

Please ignore my invisible horse, this guide was made 2 days after launch while the game was still horribly bugged. I did not find that the giants turned invisible, so I’ll be spending my time grinding some levels while we await the patch. This guides purpose is not to debate the state of the game, and I will remove comments relating to that, I appreciate those who would wish to give advice, but this guide is not the place for that.
 
 
 

How to easily access Storm Hill

The best place I have so far found to grind souls early game is Storm’s Hill. To get there, travel north from Gatefront Ruins
 

 

 
 
Stay close to the cliff face so to avoid the horseman
 
 

 
 
Go this waypoint, there youll find a spring fountain
 
 

 
 

 
 
 

Where to find your grace point

Once on Storm Hill, run past the giants towards this waypoint
 
 

 
 
You can use these rocks as a landmark
 
 

 
 
Head into the forest
 
 

 
 
Your grace point is behind the cabin
 
 

 
 
 

Kill the gaints

Once your grace point is set, head back to the field and kill the giants one at a time. They can be pretty easily killed on horseback. They can run very quickly and have some nasty ranged abilities, try to stay close and behind them to take advantage of their slow turn radius. Only move away to avoid AOE damage, then return before they switch to ranged attacks. Run between and around their legs hitting their legs as much as possible and dodging only when absolutely necessary.
 
 
They have stages that seem to be activated by low health, but these can be avoided by attacking the legs till they fall over, then finishing them on the ground. I recommend using a weapon with Blood Loss(a flail with this effect can be found in one of the trailer chests at the Gatefront ruins), once sufficient hits have been dealt, it will eat a large chunk of their health bar. I also recommend converting all of your flasks to health charges for the duration of the battles.
 
 
Each giant will net you 1,000 runes and 2 flask charges. I am far from a souls veteran, but I was able to kill the entire field of giants in a couple minutes multiple times over.
 
 
There is a stone in the middle of the field that can be destroyed by leading a giant over to it and getting it to attack close to the stone. It contains a slightly higher tier weapon upgrade stone if you wish to grab it.
 
 
Head back to your grace point, rest so they respawn, rinse and repeat.
