This guide lists all the components of weapons and shields, as well as the stats that they give to the item.
SMG
Barrel
If the barrel matches the brand of the weapon it gains additional bonus weapon damage (except for shotguns, their damage depends on the number of barrels).
The barrel determines the name of the weapon (except for submachine guns with a barrel from Maliwan, their name is given by an elemental modifier).
Some barrels are incompatible with weapons of a certain type and a certain manufacturer: the Vladof barrel is incompatible with the Jakobs pistols, the E-Tech barrel is incompatible with the Jakobs and Torgue guns.

Free bonus stats, you don’t always get one and you can’t have more then one of them on the same weapon.
Defines the prefix of the weapon, when defining the prefix it has higher priority than the elemental modifier.
Weapons of white rarity cannot have accessories. Weapons of purple rarity and above always have an accessory.

The accessory defines the feature of the shield and its name.
The case, battery and capacitor determine the shield prefix (depending on the shield parameters).
