I wanted to play this game after trying it and being scared ages ago. I could not even open the game. Clicking PLAY on Steam will show me the Bioshock rectangular icon on screen and be stuck there till i click on it, causing the game to crash.
 
 
I tried all the fixes from PCGW one by one — https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/BioShock_Remastered – [pcgamingwiki.com] 
 
 
None of them produced satisfying results for me.
 
 
I thought I’d go back to basics and try verifying game integrity on Steam. Doing that caused the game to download a 5gb file. I’m assuming its a patch of some sort because after that, the game worked! It opened with no issues.
 
 
So for anyone else having similar issues, Verify Game Integrity!!
