Tips and Tricks for BattleBit Remastered – How to Troubleshoot

BattleBit Remastered is a low-poly, massive multiplayer FPS, supporting 254 players per server. Battle on a near-fully destructible map with various vehicles!

Troubleshooting

It is easy to play on Linux using EAC. You don’t need to be concerned about BIOS settings or anything similar to that. However, problems can occur. This guide is still being developed.

I installed BattleBit and it won’t boot.

Installed the game on an NTFS disk? If yes, that is the problem. Proton cannot boot games due to NTFS backslash. This isn’t an issue with Proton or Linux issue.

You can fix this the simple way or the hard method (Is also easy, but not if you’re a lazy person)

Easy Way

This game isn’t more than 3GiB, and shouldn’t take up a lot of space on your main drive.

  • Right-click on “BattleBit Remastered” in your steam library.
  • Click on the properties to view the details.
  • Click on the “Installed Files Section”
  • Click on the “Move Install Folder” button and then select your Linux Drive.

The game should now begin without any problems

Hard Way

EAC won’t work after a game update

This is not a common problem, but it can happen, so it’s recommended to remove the “Prefix” of the game, where all the information related to the game and EAC is.

This isn’t a tested solution, since it can differ from one system to the next and OS, this is just from my own experience.

  • Open your file explorer and navigate to
    ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/

(If you already have the game installed on your main drive)

If you have the game installed on another drive, then go to

    SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/
