Introduction

Hello! I just completed Atlantis: Pearls of the Deep. Now I want to share how it went. It was difficult and the zen mode was very brutal. This is a physics-based match 3 game. Some levels are more physics-based that others. A few levels are based solely on ramps to get you pearls onto the field.
 
 
This is despite the fact that there isn't much of a challenge. The hardest part of this game is figuring out which levels require which "skills", which you will learn along your journey. The most difficult skills are understanding how to use slopes, and where the balls will end up. You will be a master at this campaign after completing all 120 levels.
 
 

 
 
 

Sections 1 – 4 of the "Original" Campaign

Introduction

 
This section is easy and straightforward. These 60 levels are the easiest, so the majority of this section will be orienting. These are the sections you'll start in when you first start:
 
 

 
 

Orienting yourself

 
You'll likely feel overwhelmed when you first enter the first level. To begin, you will see a cursor that moves the pearl dropper at its top.
 
 

 
The pearl dropper will be giving you two pieces information right now. The first is the yellow pearl, which shows the pearl that will drop next. Above this, you will see a tiny blue Pearl. This pearl is easily accessible! I made it to nearly section four before I realized that (. However, I'm certain I just missed a tutorial on). You can switch the pearls by using RMB.
 
 
Next, the star goals are located in the bottom left corner.
 
 

 
 
These icons are currently showing you three goals. You can see them by hovering above the icons in the game. The leftmost icon indicates that there are three more pearls containing an item that you must collect. The round is complete once you have collected all three items. The center icon displays the time goal. You have five minutes to complete your round. The pearl goal is the icon to your right. You can drop 25 more pearls to complete this challenge.
 
 
These challenges vary from level to level, so it is important that you review them at every level. These are the only ways to receive stars and it is essential to complete all of them in order to obtain the achievements.
 
 
I will not be providing any level guides unless you comment in this section. Please comment hard on levels and I'll do my best for a walkthrough/guide!
 
 

Power-Ups

 
The power-ups are also very important.
 
 

 
 
All but one of these power-ups will be available by the end this section. The cost of all seven power-ups totals 185 coins. This means that only 5 coins will remain after you've completed the 60 levels. Alternativly, you can skip straight to the zen section and get some of these coins earlier. I recommend this. Zen mode is an excellent way to learn the physics and understand the common level layouts. You will need 1000 levels to complete the zen mode. It doesn't matter what you do first.
 
 

Achievements

 
This section should have ended with a few steam achievements.
 
 
25 Stars!
 
You can earn 25 stars by completing level objectives
 
 
50 Stars!
 
Completing level goals will earn you 50 stars
 
 
100 Stars!
 
Completing level goals will earn you 100 stars

Sections 5-7: The "Second Campaign".

How do you find this section?

 
This section may be confusing if you aren't an avid adventurer.
 
 
You will find an arrow on the level selection screen to move the menu around.

Introduction

 
Despite having 15 levels, this section is much more time-consuming than the first. From start to end, the first section took me around 4 hours. The second section took me nearly 5 hours. This shouldn't scare anyone, as these levels are far more complex and make them more enjoyable. This section is where you will find and develop many of the skills required for the challenge levels. I've included it because it's important. You will want all the power-ups. So if you skipped the last section of this section, make sure to play a few levels before you start section 5.
 
 
As mentioned in the previous section I will add walkthroughs for difficult levels or guidance upon user request. If you have any difficulties with a level, I'll add it to my guide!
 
 

Achievements

 
This section will end with 105 levels. You will be able to earn 315 stars.
 
 
200 Stars!
 
You can earn 200 stars by completing level goals
 
 
250 Stars!
 
You can earn 250 stars by completing level goals
 
 
300 Stars!
 
Completing level goals will earn you 300 stars
 
 
 

The Challenge Levels

Introduction

 
 

 
 
The Challenge Levels section is the most difficult in terms of skill. While not all levels are difficult (, some are easy). Many of these levels will challenge you to clear pearls within a time limit, or limit the number you can use.
 
 
This section will likely get the most requests for levels – like the other levels, I'll include them upon request.
 
 

Realizations

 
This section will end with you having completed all nine achievements that can be obtained by collecting stars. Now, it is time for zen mode!

Zen Mode

Introduction

 
 

 
 
Warning: This section can be a real grind. You will need 1000 zen levels to complete. This took me more than 11 hours of constant gameplay. This may take longer for some. Some people will take less. I get easily distracted and forget to use the right strategies. So, let's begin.
 
 

Strategy

 
Tons of pearls will fall from the top level at the beginning of each zen mode level, filling the level with pearls. Many pearls will match at this point. You will also see many power-ups. It is a great strategy to spam the mouse button until the flurry stops. The number and type of pearls dropped into a level will not match the number of pearls removed by the power-ups. In certain cases, you can also save the rainbow power up by using RMB. This will allow you to use the power-up until the level begins (. Pearls of the removed color are still able to be spawned at).
 
 
Clear as many pearls as you can as quickly as possible after doing this. This is not a timed process, but you will be doing it 1000 times to get used the matching pearls quickly. This should be an easy pace for you. You will soon tire easily if you think too much. It is a slow process. I was in zen mode for around six days, and spent around two hours per night.
