Cropped Cat-Tails and Nettles become Plant-Fibre that Tool makers, or any other free person in the Tribe, can craft Ropes from.
 
 

Plant-Fibre Gathering ~ Cat-Tails ~ Nettles ~ Rope-Crafting

* Gather Group
 
Create a Gatherer group with only 1 person in it when the Tribe is new.
 
Tick in Plant-fibre only. The Gatherer will collect Plant-fibre from all possible sources, unless you lasso in specific areas you wish the group to gather from.
 
In order to manually lasso any area , pick the group, then the crop tool, then on bottom middle screen pick free-hand tool, and circle in the area you wish for your gatherers to focus on.
 
You can also not create a group, but let free people crop plant-fibre as they see fit based on priority, but this can often go very slow if more than 1 resource has rank 4 priority.
 
 

 
 
* Cat-Tails
 
Cat-Tails creates Plant-fibre and can be found along the edge of the River, it can be cropped.
 
 

 
 
* Nettles
 
Nettles creates Plant-fibre and can be found on the ground around you and can be cropped.
 
 

 
 
* Rope-Crafting
 
In your Tool-making Group , tick in Rope and grant it the rank you need in your storage area.
 
I normally have it on 3 at start, then lower the rank as the buildings needing them are finished.
 
 

 
 
As long as your storage areas have plant-fibre, your people will always make ropes.
