How to play ATD on modern machines without flickering, lag or input problems using new community made patches

How can I play lag free?

With the help of new patches made for ATD by the community (or rather just me)!

Thanks to the release of the game’s source code, I (and CrossVR – [github.com] ) could implement SDL2 as a new rendering backend. This fixed a lot of problems like (input) lag, flickering, crashes on alt+tab and a few more.

I also added support for windowed mode and borderless fullscreen.

There are also a few game logic related bug fixes (laptop crashing, fright flights not properly working)

What about multiplayer?

Great question!

This patch also reworked the old multiplayer system (thanks to CrossVR as well). Together with Hamachi or ZeroTier you can enjoy a much better multiplayer experience than ever before!

There is also a patch version in the making, which uses a NAT punchhtrough server so that everyone can play, even without a service like Hamachi. (No ETA yet though)

How to download the patch?

Just head over to the projects GitHub page: https://github.com/WizzardMaker/AirlineTycoon/releases/latest – [github.com]

Just download the AT.exe file and replace your old one! (You should keep a backup of the original in case something doesn’t work as intended..)

If this is your first time downloading this patch, then please also download the “Dependencies.zip” file under Assets and unzip everything in the AT folder.
