There is a couple of tricks to increase performance and stability of the game, including editing game files and configuring operation system settings. All this gives a good result. See instructions below.
[Step #1] In-Game settings
[###]
Adjust graphics settings depending on the performance of your computer (Ultra, High, Medium, Low. You name it.), except these five options:
- Motion Blur
- Chromatic aberration
- Film Grain
- Vignette
- Lens Distortion
These are just post processing effects, but at this time they are causing some lag on most of the computers. You can experiment, but I recommend to set Motion Blur to “0”, and other options to “OFF”.
[###]
There is two more options. Everytime you boot into the game, you should open console by pressing “~”, and enter these two values:
PostProcess.DofMethod DofMethod_None WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
[Step #2] Configuration file settings
[###]
Now we can move to our game configuration file. Proceed to directory:
C:\Users\%USERFOLDER%\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings
Locate PROFSAVE_profile file, open it with any text editor, and change the settings below:
- GstRender.Dx12Enabled 1
- GstRender.ResolutionScale 1
- GstRender.ShadowQuality 0
- GstRender.WeaponDOF 0
[###]
Save changes, then Right-click on PROFSAVE_profile, check the Read Only checkbox, and Apply.
[Step #3] Operation system settings
/// IN PROGRESS ///
Enjoy the result
