Before starting: A warning to players.

I will first point out that GORN is not meant for small room-scale experiences. You will most likely hit something during your play-time, as I have many times before moving rooms. You will also be prone to injuring yourself, as shown in an image in Artworks. I will not link the image here, but look in Artworks and you will see it. The best set-up for playing GORN is a large room, moderate by Oculus standards if required. Do not have any low-hanging lights or chandeliers as you will almost certainly hit them during play-time.

Welcome to the Gladiator School!

Welcome! My name is Revolver Ocelot. I will be teaching you about the various weapons of GORN, as well as caestus, enemies, champions and more. You should come here if you are experiencing trouble playing the game, or if you want to learn new skills and tricks.

Weapons and Caestus

Unarmed Weapons

Fists
Damage: Moderate
Your fists in themselves are very deadly weapons if you have no weapons around. They are good for destroying most armor with strong punches and can easily kill gladiators with two hits if you punch hard in their head. Because your fists are seemingly made of titanium, you can easily parried one-handed and some two-handed weapons easily.

A good way to quickly kill gladiators is to jab their head (if it is exposed: without armor) in rapid succession, quickly stunning him and allowing you to kill him.

Rock
Damage: Small
Rocks aren’t as good as your fists when it comes to attacking unarmored enemies, but they can surprisingly break armor extremely easily. They can also be thrown, making for some funny kills and whatnot as well.

Close Ranged Weapons

Blunt

Nail Bat
Damage: Medium
The nail bat is one of the more common weapons you will find in GORN. Studded with nails on the end, it can be a devastation weapon when used correctly. The best way to kill a gladiator with these is to smash his head and/or legs if they are exposed.

Mace
Damage: Medium
The Mace is a very deadly weapon like its younger brother, the Nail Bat when used correctly. It is good for breaking armor and delivering strong hits, and can kill with one hit if the gladiator is not wearing a helmet and you are hitting him hard enough with it.

Sharp

Sword
Damage: Large
The Sword is one of the few weapons in the game that can slice off the limbs of opponents if well-placed. It can be very dangerous if wielded by a skilled player. However, it cannot be used to stab, unlike the Rapier.

Rapier
Damage: Large
The Rapier is one of the few weapons capable of stabbing and impaling opponents. It can kill an opponent in just three stabs to the chest and head. The opponent is also stunned during this, allowing you to pull off his limbs and whatnot. If you’re good enough, you could do a well-placed stab to the chest and pull out your opponents heart, resulting in an insta-kill! However, your opponent will either fall off the rapier or die after a certain amount of time impaled, which you should keep in mind.

Note: This guide is WIP and unfinished so far. It only contains a small amount of information at this point.
